2016

In 2016 IOM assisted 116 migrants with their return to 18 countries of origin. The majority of foreigners returned to Iraq (60,35 % of all returns in 2016), Algeria and Ukraine (7,76 % both countries), Thailand, Peru and Cuba (2,59 % each country).

Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (42,24 %) and 31-50 (30,17 %) prevails. Foreigners over 51 years of age accounted for 7,76 % of all returnees in 2016 and foreigners under 18 years of age accounted for 19,83 %. The share of males was 62,07 % and females 37,93 %.

2015

In 2015 IOM assisted 92 migrants with their return to 15 countries of origin. The majority of foreigners returned to Serbia - Kosovo (64.13% from all returns in 2015), Iraq (16.30%) and to Afghanistan, Brazil, China, Somalia and Tunisia (2.17% / each country). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 - 30 (43.48%) and 31 - 50 (31.52%) prevail. Foreigners under 18 years of age accounted for 25% of all returnees in 2015. The share of males was 76.09% and females 23.91%.

2014

From January to December 2014 IOM assisted to 57 migrants with their return to 20 countries of origin. The majority of foreigners returned to Vietnam (19.30% from all returns in 2014), Ukraine (17.54%), India (10.53%), Georgia, Iraq, Macedonia, Mexico and Moldova (5.26% / each country). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 31 – 50 (59.65%) and 18 – 30 (38.60%) prevail. Foreigners over 51 years of age accounted for 1.75% of all returnees in 2014. The share of males was 85.96% and females 14.04%.

2013

From January to December 2013 IOM assisted to 50 migrants with their return to 14 countries of origin. The majority of foreigners returned to Vietnam (16% from all returns in 2013), Ukraine (14 %), China and Moldova (both 12%), India (10%) and Armenia (8%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 31 – 50 (54%) and 18 – 30 (38%) prevail. Foreigners over 51 years of age accounted for 8% of all returnees in 2013. The share of males was 92% and females 8%.

2012

In 2012 totaly 54 voluntary returns to 16 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Moldova (20,37% from all returns in the reported period), Kosovo (16,67 %) and Vietnam, (14.81%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (46.30%) and 31 – 50 (37.04%) prevail. Foreigners over 51 constituted 7.41% and foreigners under 17 represented (9,26%). The share of males was 81.48% and females 18.52%.

2011

Totally 95 voluntary returns to 17 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Ukraine (27.37% from all returns in 2011), Vietnam (20.00%), China (10.53%), Russia (7.37%), Turkey (6.32%) and Moldova (6.32%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 31 – 50 (46.32%) and 18 – 30 (44.21%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years of age accounted for 3.16% of all returnees in 2011 and foreigners over 51 were 6.32%. The share of males was 75.79% and females 24.21%.

2010

Totally 127 voluntary returns to 21 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Vietnam (26.77% from all returns in 2010), Georgia (19.69%), Moldova (11.02%), Ukraine (9.45%) and Russia (7.09%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 31 – 50 (44.88%) and 18 – 30 (42.52%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years of age accounted for 6.30% of all returnees in 2010 and foreigners over 51 were 6.30%. The share of males was 85.83% and females 14.17%.

2009

Totally 139 voluntary returns to 24 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Vietnam (48.18 % from all returns in 2009), Moldova (11.68%), Georgia (8.03%), China (6.57%) and Russia (4.38%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (56.12%) and 31 – 50 (37.41%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years accounted for 2.16 % of all returnees in 2009 and foreigners over 51 represented 4.32 %. The share of males was 82.01 % and females 17.99 %.

2008

Totally 96 voluntary returns to 17 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Moldova (46.88 % from all returns in 2008), Iraq (17.71%), Kosovo (7.29%), India (6.25%) and Russia (5.21%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (54.17%) and 31 – 50 (31.25%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years represented 9.38 % of all returnees in 2008 and foreigners over 51 constituted 5.21%. The share of males was 80.21% and females 19.79%.

2007

Totally 153 voluntary returns to 13 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Moldova (58.82% from all returns in 2007), China (9.15%), Iraq and Russia (both 5.88%) and Dominican Republic (3.92%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (58.82%) and 31 – 50 (35.29%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years accounted for 1.31 % of all returnees in 2007 and foreigners over 51 were 4.58%. The share of males was 69.93% and females 30.07%.

Totally 128 voluntary returns to 16 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to Moldova (24.22% from all returns in 2006), Turkey (19.53%), Russia (10.94%) and Georgia and Kosovo (both 9.38%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (60.94%) and 31 – 50 (28.13%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years were 9.38% of all returnees in 2006 and foreigners over 51 constituted 1.56%. The share of males was 78.91% and females 21.09%.

Totally 119 voluntary returns to 16 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to China (41.18% from all returns in 2005), Russia (17.65%), Georgia (12.61%), Turkey (9.24%) and Moldova (5.88%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (51.26%) and 31 – 50 (34.45%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years accounted for 10.08% of all returnees in 2005 and over 51 were 4.20%. The share of males was 75.63% and females 24.37%.

2004

Totally 148 voluntary returns to 15 countries were carried out. The majority of foreigners returned to China (45.95% from all returns in 2004), Turkey (13.51%), Armenia (10.81%), Moldova (8.11%) and Chechnya (7.43%). Based on the comparison of the age of migrants, returnees aged 18 – 30 (60.14%) and 31 – 50 (29.05%) prevail. Foreigners under 17 years represented 8.78% of all returnees in 2005 and over 51 accounted for 2.03%. The share of males was 70.27% and females 29.73%.
