How can IOM help me?

Are you thinking of going back home?

Are you reconsidering your current situation in Slovakia and thinking of the possibility of returning home? Whatever your reasons may be, Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration Programme (AVRR) can help you to return back to your country of origin. You can also apply for reintegration grant designed to assist you after the return. Reintegration grant can be used for small businesses start-up, to improve qualification of returnees, to assist returnees with job search, with material assistance in order to help them cover basic needs following their arrival, with temporary accommodation, legal or medical assistance. The awarding of reintegration grant is subject to selection carried out by the selection committee of IOM Bratislava.

The services provided by IOM International Organization for Migration within the framework of the AVRR Programme are designed for migrants who happen to be in Slovakia without a valid residence permit, to migrants stuck in the transit area at the airport, to asylum seekers whose asylum application is pending or whose application was rejected – to all of you who wish to return home and need help.

What does IOM guarantee?

  • Services provided within the framework of assisted voluntary return are free of charge
  • IOM guarantees confidentiality and anonymity – IOM staff will discuss your return with you only; your decision will not be disclosed to other people from your environment.
  • You will return home as a private individual arriving from a stay in a host country
  • Knowledge and information – IOM will provide you with an accurate and comprehensive information about assisted voluntary returns and you will be able to decide freely whether you wish to sign up for the programme
  • A humane return without any mental, physical or material coercion
  • Voluntariness – you will be able to take your decision back at any stage of the assisted voluntary return, to cancel your registration into the programme and not to travel home at all.
  • A possibility to apply for reintegration grant (awarding of reintegration grant is subject to selection carried out by the selection committee of IOM Bratislava.
